January Resolution

Tips on keeping a tidy closet

Happy New Year!

This year my plan to execute all my goals successfully is to have 13 Resolutions instead of one. My main goal is to release 52 blog posts (if not more) for the entire year. A post a week, give or take a proper time frame. Any blogger will happily admit the only thing keeping her blog from greatness is consistency.

In conjunction with the 52 posts, I have decided to reflect upon each month and create a new resolution. A resolution for every month.

One of my Christmas gifts was the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. I've been reading this along with watching the Netflix TV show.

Her method is to keep items that spark joy to your touch and show gratitude to the items that don't while getting rid of them. This process is allowing me to be more mindful of my space and my day to day habits.

The first step in the KonMari method is to organize your clothes by emptying out your entire closet and piling the clothes in a big mountain. You then look at each garment piece by piece.

I have always been one to enjoy being in the presence of my clothes. However, in the midst of getting ready and tending to Nu, my closet its usually decorated with hangers piled on each other and pants spilling out of my dresser. This makes the energy in my closet unpleasant.

I'm tidying my closet a little every day and I recommend you do the same! You would be surprised the difference it makes if you hang up the clothes you decide not to wear after trying them on.

I'll revisit my closet on my blog at the end of the month to show my progress.

What are your resolutions?
